Terminator is an attempt to maximise useful space on a given desktop for terminals. Great for those who live in ssh sessions and thus terminals. Well worth the try for it. Still in development, so may (read: will likely) have bugs.

I found few more Ubuntu tweaks that may be very useful. I was looking to edit the menu options under the Places top menu. I found the trick here: . This page also contains many more useful informations for Ubuntu. It was written for a specific setup, but may solve other problems.
